Reviews of Clearbrook Animal Hospital in Abbotsford

Took our kitty in to have the doctor look at a medium abscess on her behind. We arrived at opening on a Sunday and were told that this was considered “urgent care“ and would be charged with that fee. Then we sat and waited for 20 minutes for doctor to arrive.
He told us she had to have surgery and bloodwork. When we picked her up she was in bad shape, but that was expected. The doctor told us it was worse than they thought but that she was ok. Both my husband and I were shocked buy the size of the incision which went all the way from the top of her tail to above her leg. Way bigger than the original wound.
The next day when I got home I found her lying in the bathroom with the stitches all broken open and her muscles hanging out. She was not responding to me and I called the doctor who advised to bring her in right away.
After he saw her I was told she would have to be sedated again and re sewn up. Then he advised me that we would be charged again for the same procedure. I was angry to begin with but this was unacceptable. when I told him so and asked why this happened his response was maybe another cat chewed them open… maybe she rubbed against something outside? I couldn’t believe this!
I asked him how many times we would have to go through the same procedure and he said “I can’t tell you that“ He agreed finally to charge only for sedation ~ still expensive.
After she was sedated and sewn up for second time she was very very sick. I had to sign a waver the second time.
When I went to pay the second time the amount we agreed on wasn’t the amount on invoice. I asked why that was and the clerk phoned doctor to ask and meanwhile my poor kitty was suffering in car. I was told that the extra was tax. By this time I was furious and just left To get my kitty home safe.
I asked for them to please send bloodwork to me and they refused because I still owed them $28.23. I called the Collage of Veterinarians of British Columbia and was told that the bloodwork belongs to the animal after it’s payed for. They also did not show me the second invoice when I payed and no receipt. I requested that be sent as well.
I had to threaten to go to the College again. Finally it came.
When our new veterinarian called to ask for our kittys file they refused because of the outstanding owed. Will never do business with them again.
