Reviews of South Muskoka Medical Centre & Walk-In Clinic in Bracebridge

I have been a patient of Dr. Liao's for more than 10 years. I consider him a knowledgeable, dedicated and trusting professional. However, I have had many issues accessing services at his clinic, most issues predating COVID. Extremely long wait times and difficulty contacting the clinic by phone are the norm. Either no answer, direct-to-voice-mail, or full mailbox are typical. This wouldn't be a big issue if I live nearby but traveling 45 kms to get an appointment date or asking a simple question is costly. I understand that staff shortages are causing havoc across the province but having to wait 8 weeks for a doctor to share results of a biopsy is inconsiderate and borderline inhumane... I do like Dr. Liao but have to admit it is getting really hard to pay such a high price to receive health care in Muskoka. If you are new to Muskoka and have a good, accesible family doctor out of area, think twice before switching to a local practicioner at South Muskoka Medical Centre.
