Reviews of Dolan's Pub in Fredericton

Stupid and insensitive co-owner banned me for being "in a bad mood" while watching live TV coverage of the Parliament Hill shootings at about 1140 Wed. 22 Oct. He did not understand when I asked, rhetorically. " where were you when Kennedy was shot?" in order to illustrate the importance of the unfolding event on TV, and seemed to take it personally that I was asking him about something which happened prior to his birth. I left the establishment without more than sipping the coffee that I'd just ordered, to avoid getting further upset by his rudeness and distraction, and because I wanted to go home to follow the coverage. The co-owner then "warned" me that I'd been in a "bad mood" on two recent occasions, during daylight business hours in his presence ( those are facts, not his words.) He threatened me with some undefined consequences if I showed up at his place again in a "bad mood." I walked in this morning at 1130, 48 hours after the event, and asked him from the doorway, "Don't you think you owe me an apology?" He responded by telling me I was "barred" from Dolan's. Well, I'm always open to new experiences but this was a first for me. Having been formally trained as a bartender and working in the industry many years ago in Halifax, the only grounds I'd ever heard for barring someone from a licensed establishment involved being visibly impaired, regurgitation, fighting, excessive profanity, property damage and the like. Never heard of "being in a bad mood" making the list, especially with me and my mood minding our own business and watching a live news special when the owner sauntered up to disturb me. You decide if that's your kind of Irish pub. These are personal remarks in advance of filing notice of legal action for defamation against the owner. Cheers, Cyril. Bottoms up! And, up yours!
