Stay Away. I was in the market for a low cost truck - I gave Dave my parameters and while I was in the office he had put a bid on one that I was okay with. They called the next morning and said the bid wasn't accepted but they went ahead and bid and won another truck. I was a little upset that they didn't contact me first before committing to a high mileage truck but I figured he knew what he was doing. The price though was higher than I wanted. Picked up the truck and right away saw that the engine light was on and a door ajar warning light was on. The employee handing off the truck to me said just keep spraying a lubricant into the latch and the light will go off. And the engine light? He said that there was no gas in it, had been sitting for a while and he had put a solution in the gas tank - and that would take care of the engine light once I filled it up. I was a little skeptical but figured surely they checked for a code and nothing came up of concern. I drove it home, noticed it was inconsistent when coming up to speed, just didn't feel right. The next day I took it to my mechanic to get to the bottom of the engine light and the door ajar light. I started it up, felt the engine shudder, and stall. She just didn't want to start right away. Heard back from my mechanic, he told me I needed a new door latch and my timing chain was fucked. I was pretty pissed off, and called Dave. First he said there was no engine light when 'they' had it. I told him the story that his employee shared about the engine light, and I also brought up the latch. After some double talk he said 'use the warranty you bought' . I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I told him I want my money back, or against my better judgement, exchange it. It was a hard no from him. Currently waiting to see if the Lubrico warranty will be honoured - I spoke to them and they seemed pretty confused that I needed a major repair after a day of owning it. They do cover timing chains, but I'm wondering if the circumstances are so sketchy that they will deny it. If they do, Dave will have a hell of a fight on his hands.
