Reviews of Kosco Flooring in Hamilton

Customer service at the store is great until you question them on their business practice. Bought some flooring which we were told was their own private brand Euro Click. We made many inquiries about Euro Click since we had never heard of the brand. We were told it was their private brand which they imported. When time came to deliver the flooring we received a different brand of flooring (Baronwood) than Euro Click. The brand of flooring we received retailed for 50% cheaper. When I questioned Ogi, he said that their private brand is the Baronwood and they just put a private label on it. I asked him why this was not disclosed when I asked about the product, he said lots of businesses do this. He initially agreed to return the flooring minus a 30% restock fee, However, the next day he advised we could not return the floor because it was a special order. We were told that they had plenty of stock in the warehouse and were never told this was a special order. We have never threatened or harassed the company. We have exercised our legal rights as consumers and have sought expert legal advice and have contacted the Min for Public and Business Services. We have corresponded with the company advising of our complaint and requesting a refund as per the professional advice. We have disclosed to them that should we not receive our refund we would be pursing the matter further. This is not harassment or threatening. We want to just return the product and get refunded. I have 26 boxes in my truck ready to be returned to the company for a full refund. This can be resolved quickly but they are instead choosing to force our hand through formal complaint and legal process to get our money back. We believe small businesses have a right to make a profit but they also have a right to be transparent and honest about their products so that consumers can make an informed decision. Hiding behind “ their private brand” so they can hike the price by 50% is an unfair business practice. If you truly care about your customers allow us to return the floor for a full refund and we can each go on with our lives.
