Reviews of Midas in Oshawa

Do NOT visit this Midas location!! I brought my Mazda CX-5 here a couple of months ago for a valve cover gasket, an ignition coil, and spark plugs... or so I thought so as I was charged almost $1000 for these services. I started having similar issues with my car last week and brought it to another shop nearby because Midas was too busy and couldn't take the car in. This shop found the exact same issues when running a diagnostic and explained there was no way Midas changed the parts. Having worked at a Mazda dealership and having a good amount of car knowledge, I came to the same conclusion. Now I didn't trust Midas whatsoever and had this shop do the work that needed to be done.

I then drove straight to Midas after picking up my car that was now working perfectly. I also had the old parts with me as the mechanic gave them to me when I requested. I explained the situation to Andrew the manager at Midas and I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. As I was explaining the situation he wouldn't stop smiling even though he could tell I was frustrated. He tried to tell me that I was showing him new parts even though there was carbon build up on the spark plugs that couldn't happen in 2 months. He wasn't even willing to have a discussion with me about how this could have possibly happened and told me that there was nothing they would do for me.

I will definitely be contacting someone from the Midas Head Office as it is disgusting that they would charge people for parts and services that weren't done and the experience with the manager at this location was incredibly unprofessional.

I brought my vehicle to Midas station for a squeaky sound from the passenger's front side, they replaced the Control arms, Ball joint Assemble, Driver Front control Arms control, and Ball joint assembly. Left front Stabilizer Bar link, Front Stabilizer Bar link, and so on ...
along with Charging me with Computerized Alignment Services. cost me almost 1200
My disappointment was still there as those sounds were still there.
when google and talk to Hyundai they said you can replace just a ball joint, no need to replace the steel bar.
I guess they have a very bad sense of diagnosis approach or are unable to understand the vehicle.
I'm an old customer of Midas but this time they were not supportive and helpful.
no idea if their management changed or they stop caring for customers.

Customer service absolutely disgusting. Have been going there for about a year now for regular oil changes. I was there on Saturday and after my oil change the service rep came and told me I had a nail in my tire but they had no time to fix it. As I was standing there a customer came in and said they had a noise in their vehicle and were driving by and wondered if anyone could look at it. The rep told them sure no problem. I will not be going back , this was very unprofessional,not to mention unsafe.
