Had a window ordered through a contractor (who was fired for incomplete and poor workmanship) in august of 2021. Prairie Boys sent me a receipt in October as the account and $1500 deposit was transferred to my name. Fast forward to Feb/2022, and they received my window in at the shop, but due to poor weather, it would be a bit for the install (completely understandable as it was a frozen hell of a winter). I called them back in mid March to find a day when the window would be installed and was told at the end of April. April came and went without a single word from Prairie Boys. I had called several times and left several messages for them to call me back. Finally, on May16/22 I was able to speak to someone again and asked the window to be installed today (June 14/22). I called them in the morning several times from my phone, but there was no answer, my friend called from his and the secretary immediately answered. I spoke to her and she told me the window would not likely be installed today (despite the month that it was in their schedule), and that the secretary was unable to contact Joe (the owner) or any other employee, but she would call me back as soon as she was able to connect with someone. At around 3pm I went to the store front location as I hadn’t received a call back and, surprise surprise, the store doors are locked. I called them again and left a message for them to call me back immediately. Additionally, I contacted the BBB and filed a complaint with them. The woman I spoke to at the BBB even said “oh, we get a lot of complaints about them”. If my window is not installed in a reasonable amount of time I will be getting a full refund on the custom ordered window.
100% do not recommend this company. They are unreliable, non-communicative, and absolutely unprofessional.

BUYER BEWARE!

This is a horrible company and absolutely terrible customer service.  Stay completely clear of Prairie Boy Windows and Doors,  go to the competition!

I initiated discussions and cummunication with PBW back in November, 2021. I was assured an early spring time frame would not be an issue and have documented communication to that effect. Based on that commitment, I provided a deposit after reviewing the quote.




Since following-up regularily as early as January 2022,  there has been repeated excuses, lack of meaningful communication or simply no reponses at all, breach of confirmed (written) comittments. Simply put,  NO EFFORT on the part of PrairieBoyWindows  (Joe - President/Owner/Operator) of PBW to fulfill this order to completion.  In fact, never got a direct answer if my Windows were ever ordered,  available and ready for installation!

After nearly 8  months, I expressed my FRUSTRATION  and in clear terms,  stated this is totally UNACCEPTABLE and would like the  order CANCELLED and DEMANDED a refund of my deposit.

I took immediate action and filed complaints with BBB, Consumer Affairs Authority, consulted a lawyer and contacted local Police Service to report potential fraud activity and theft of funds. Police were willing to sit down with me and go through my documentation. (I kept all communication on record, - work order, money transfer, emails and notes on any phone calls)

After advising Prairie Boy Windows of my intentions, and taking action, I did get a full refund but at the expense of going through a completely frustrating experience from the start.

Folks,  I encourage you to keep good records of anything they (Prairie  Boy Windows and Doors)  provides and/or says, including dates/times of calls etc,  to hold them accountable.
