Reviews of Malahat Farm in Sooke

The owners were experiencing financial difficulty and that was reflected in our treatment. We were given second-rate service compared with a couple of long-term clients who were staying there because of work. The owner's attitude towards us was as if we were inconveniencing them and was a sharp contrast compared with their polite and kow-tow attitude toward the long-term clients.

We expect the "breakfast" part of B&B to be an integral part of the experience, and the "breakfast" part was by far the worst experience we've ever had.

We had to wait for our breakfast while other "priority" guests (long-term tenants) were served first, and the breakfast was meagre, consisting of an egg (if we were lucky) and some toast (mostly just toast).

The biggest shocker though was when the "priority" guests did not finish their "priority" breakfast, which was some rhubarb pie, we were served their left-overs from their plate.

It was just horrible being treated like second-rate customers. The long-term clients were treated like how we've always been treated at all the other B&Bs we've ever stayed at, so it was just awful being treated like second-class clients. It was disappointing to travel so far only to have them ruin our vacation.

We came back to Sooke because of good memories, now our memories have been forever tainted by our horrible experience at Malahat Farm. Two thumbs down.
