Reviews of Speedy Glass Sudbury in Sudbury

I went to Uniglass Plus auto glass on the Kingsway to have a 2 inch long crack in my windshield fixed. The attendant recommended NOT to have it repaired but replaced instead due to the location of the crack. He said the crack was too close to the edge of the windshield and that any attempt to fix it would only result in further cracking. He then gave me a quote of $250.00 plus taxes for a replacement. He then mentioned that at Speedy Auto Service on the Kingsway, they might be able to repair it. So, I went to Speedy and the repair person after looking over the cracked windshield, said yes they could repair it. I was told it would be done in 1 hour. I returned in 1 hour only to find it hadn't been started yet. The counter person appologized and said it would be done in 1 hour. 1 hour later on my return, I was told it wasn't ready yet and to come back in 1/2 an hour. Half an hour later I paid $96.00 including taxes for the repaired windshield. When my vehicle was returned to me, I was told the windshield had cracked further. When I checked the repair myself, there was a faint line about 25 inches long where the windshield had been repaied. It was suggested by the repair person to replace the windshield with them for $440.00 plus taxes, minus the cost of the repair of $96.00 for a total of $344.00 plus taxes. I chose to not have them do any work to my vehicle, not because of the failed attempt to repair it, but because of how they handled the situation. I was made to pay full cost of the repair before it was explained to me that they had botched the job and the windshield would now have to be replaced. There was no appology for this or offer of reduced cost. The price I was quoted at UniGlass auto glass of $250.00 was almost $100.00 cheaper than Speedy's quote.
I will NOT be getting anything repaired at Speedy Auto ever again. Thanks
