Nathan Ganapathi was my attorney for 2 ½ years: from March 2015 – October 2017. I had cause to terminate the agreement and afterwards, I hired another attorney who counseled me to file a professional negligence claim against him. Nathan Ganapathi emotionally and mentally abused me, blackmailed me for money, carried out fraud and malfeasance during his representation of me and my family, and ultimately betrayed us.
Mr. Ganapathi entered the Supreme Court on my behalf after I spent hours compiling my affidavit and tens of thousands of dollars. I won two victories-the ability to appeal two former provincial court decisions. Not long afterwards, without my knowledge or consent, he secretly filed a request to the Court that would cancel my awards. He claimed that they were no longer relevant, so the Court canceled them. Therefore, I lost the ability to have my appeals heard. Nathan Ganapathi’s actions nullified the pleadings that had cost my family tens of thousands of dollars-he deliberately sabotaged my appeal hearings and hid it from me. I didn’t learn of his malfeasance until 2019.
In 2016, I had cause to sue the Province and Mr. Ganapathi agreed to represent me. At the time, the Law Society of B.C. had initiated disciplinary proceedings against him, which later resulted in the suspension of his practice for a specified time. Mr. Ganapathi told me that he had a situation arise wherein he had to retain an attorney, but he didn’t specify the details. Had he informed me, I would not have allowed him to represent my civil claim; because when he filed the pleadings against the Province he omitted a legal basis (no legal claim can be filed without one). This was elementary and as a senior attorney he knew this was fundamental. The Provincial attorneys asked him to correct his pleadings, but he would not. Mr. Ganapathi’s willful negligence cost me my suit against the Province. I terminated the agreement with him. At that point I had paid him roughly $200,000.00; although he claimed that I owed him more. I hired another attorney to recover the civil claim, but due to Mr. Ganapathi’s refusal to relinquish the file to us and the fact that he withheld it for a prolonged amount of time, the Court dismissed the claim and I lost tens of thousands of dollars in attorney’s fees.

I filed a negligence claim against Mr. Ganapathi. He in turn, retained an attorney with a known reputation for refusing to answer opposing counsel’s correspondence-for giving the silent treatment, and for prolonging proceedings. The law requires attorneys to act in good faith and to seek resolutions that are timely; especially to settle disputes out of court. Instead, his lawyer refused to resolve the dispute and went radio silent. According to Nathan Ganapathi’s instructions, his attorney presented me with a document that was openly hostile and threatening-he wanted me to drop the claim against him and agreed to not charge me court costs. I didn’t sign it. To date, there is no resolution.
I do not recommend this law firm to anyone, especially when they are vulnerable.
