Dr Kam has been my family doctor almost 20 years. He used to be so caring and nice but somehow everything changed ( I guess since COVID happened) Every time we had phone consultation, I felt that he didn’t want to refer me to any lab tests, or didn’t want to prescribe me any medication. It feels like all my health concerns and problems were jokes too him or it felt like I made such big deals of everything.

Recently, I REQUESTED to do some blood test regarding diabetes, the one he ordered for me ( a general test) had a normal result, but I had to check the report myself as he didn’t follow up at all. ( I emailed his office and ask for the result, his staff just sent me back this report again, I told them I don’t understand the report I needed to be explained, then he replied “ means normal” )

Luckily, in order to conceive, I am also visiting a fertility center. They sensed something wrong and ordered a insulin blood test for me twice to observe and monitor. The most recent result showed I have insulin resistance ( not diabetes yet but pre diabetes) the fertility doc prescribed me some medicine to take and prevent I develop to diabetes during pregnancy. So I CALLED the Dr Kam again and asked if he has seen my newest report ( as he receives copy of everything ) also asked him to prescribe me some medicine to treat/prevent as well. What he told me is I AM ONLY TREATING YOU IF YOU HAVE THE DISEASE, I AM NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING IF YOU ARE JUST PRONE TO DIABETES, also as always and every time he told me to do lifestyle treatment.

In conclusion, he seems doesn’t care about his patients anymore, I don’t know what happened, as I am stepping into pregnancy, I am so so worried that he might neglect me for any concerns and I will go crazy. Meanwhile I am very thankful that I have this fertility center’s doctors to look after me, so I could have had the second opinions of a lot of issue. And I won’t be told “ it is nothing, you just need to change your life habit, blah blah blah”
