This is a long story, but I'll try to make it short. DO NOT GO HERE!
In November 2021 I went to this dentist to have a root canal performed on my back bottom left molar. Being that I have serious anxiety around going to the dentist I had to do sedation dentistry. While under sedation, I complained about another tooth (top left second back molar) that was causing me pain. I don't remember much of the specific conversation, but I do remember there was tension in the room and an uneasy feeling I was on a full dose of sedatives. He changed the procedure to the other tooth I had complained about, but kept it as a root canal. They claim he did his due diligence in checking that tooth, but I'm not sure that's true as I don't really remember the specifics. The simple fact of the matter is that while under sedation this procedure should never have been allowed to be changed (they also claim I was lucid when entering the exam room, which I barely remember). If I'm unable to catch a cab home, walk out of the office on my own, and have to be observed from the time I took the pills until I left, I might not be in a state to make decisions about my procedure. Regardless, he went ahead and did the root canal. Afterwards at the next appointment to get the mold for the crown, I complained about still having pain in the tooth and his response was "is it better or worse than before?" when I said better, as it was better, he (and he literally did this) made a gesture as though he was taking a bow. Taking a bow for a job he performed poorly and disregarding the fact I still had pain the tooth two weeks later and was unable to chew on that side. It's now June, and despite complaints, they still won't address the fact that I still have pain in the tooth. During the time I attended the office for this, I also asked for an estimate or quote for the procedure each time I went in and was told they would get me the information asap, I still haven't received that quote, and after bringing this to the attention of the CDSBC they informed me that it was not their responsibility to provide that info, but the insurance company should have given me the quote. Even though I've explained I was not asking for exacts, just "what does your office charge?" I'm still arguing with them over the validity of this procedure, and the fact that it is still causing me pain. They will not address that fact or anything to do with the procedure, and rather only argue about how quotes are given and that I should have known better how insurance companies work and how quotes are given.
TLDR; Shady practices, zero accountability, unprofessional overall
