We hired them to reduce moisture in our crawl space but they created new mold problems.
We live in Dean Park, North Saanich. We hired them in June 2012 and it took them until August of 2014 to finish the job by replacing our front door step. (They had to remove our old, better, door step to get the pipes in.) Two days ago, after moving items in our crawlspace, I discovered that the new door step they installed is causing mold problems. Their design issue is from the following:
- The new door step is level with our foundation, allowing water to flow over the top of the foundation
- The concrete they poured is directly against our unprotected foundation allowing the moisture to wick through.
As a company that specifically deals with damp basements I would have thought they would have known better than to create these moisture problems.
This weekend I'll be jack-hammering out what they installed and will redo it properly.
