I got a really nice bike yesterday from Canadian Tire - their service was professional and very helpful. I liked everything about the bike except the kick stand was a little loose. I was biking in uptown Waterloo today and started noticing the looseness getting worse. I thought to myself — I’ll just bike to Canadian tire in Waterloo to get them to fix it as they have a free warranty that comes with any bike you purchase. On my way there however l saw this bike shop. I thought even better I can just do it now. From the moment I walked in I sensed a cold resentful environment but I imagined it was because of the market right now so I did not pay it much mind. One of the workers there did fix my problem but the resentful-ness remained. No professionalism, no real customer service. I chose to let it be and left. As I left I heard “Yea he was black” in a rather resentful and demeaning tone. Ahhh - my entire experience in that store all the sudden made sense. This review is for any POC in the KW region that wants to buy a bike. Don’t go to this establishment - I would have never asked for their help/time had I known what was beneath the surface.
