Another disappointing experience with a dealership...
Had to come into Honda Glacier for the Rear Frame Corrosion Recall. Pretty stressful stuff, considering that you have to sign a document that if you don't pass their 'test', you can't take your car home. So, had to get out there with the whole family and two cars, as it would 'only take an hour'. Got there at 845 for my 9 am appointment and was told again 'it would only take an hour, 1,5 hour tops'. Left to go get a coffee and do some shopping. At 11.30, I decided to call myself, as my kids naptime was approaching, and we live out of town. ''Oh, we just got your car in, we had a bit of a backlog, shouldn't be too much longer'', the receptionist said unapologetically. Wow, 2,5 hours have gone by and you didn't think of letting me know? By now, it was basically lunch time, naptime was ruined, and I still didn't know whether my car had passed through the inspection. Had to take the family somewhere to eat, and around 12.20 I got another call that they had to cut one of my wires of my trailer hitch, because it was in the way. Because it wasn't original from Honda, they said, they wouldn't replace it without me paying for it. By now, I was getting pretty frustrated, and I told them I wasn't going to pay for anything. ''Okay, we won't fix it then...Oh, did anybody already tell you that you had passed the inspection?'', said the receptionist. ''No, nobody has reached out...'' At least now I could send my family home and wait for it all to be done. A little after 1 pm I finally drove away, and a1,5 hour tops appointment turned into 4 hours. I missed a full day of work, because of this, on top of it all being such a frustrating experience.
I voiced my concerns a day later in an email to Honda Glacier. It was forwarded to the GM, they said. 11 days later I emailed again, that I still hadn't heard anything. ''Someone will contact you today.'' Still nothing. I finally get a call after another 3 days, but I'm busy with work and ask them to email me(like I had specified in my previous emails, due to work), and then maybe later we can find a time to call. Another week goes by and I have to reach out again. Finally, the next day someone calls me. It was just the classic kind of 'apologies' that you get from companies like this. Lots of words, not a lot of meaning. At one point she was actually trying to put the blame/responsibility on me, by saying someone had reached out to me that day, blabla, I should've let them know about my work, blabla, if we had known, blabla. Just your good ol' classic dealership stuff, this is what I've come to expect from dealerships. I wanted some form of compensation for the day that we had had, because of them, but obviously, none of that was possible.
I had truly hoped that this time, this time it would be different, but no, just another disappointing experience with a dealership...
