Very Unprofessional and Poor Quality of Service. I went to get faux locs done a service I've never had done before. The owner asked me if I wanted it crotched. As I've never had this particular style done before and trusting that she was more knowledgeable I agreed. It was only after completing my hair, which was very bulky and heavy. Not what I had wanted or pictures at all, that she advised another method of attachment is single braid. The result of single braid method being less bulk and less hair used. Also with crotched method you are limited because you need more hair to hide the rows. The crotched method is much faster which is easier for the stylist. When it was done I had made a comment about it being bulky (also the stylist added an additional package of hair after I said I was happy with how it was) after a few days I was still not pleased with it and two locs had fallen out. I went back to see if it could be made lesss bulky and heavy. She removed some local but ultimately said there wasn't much she could do because of the method she suggested, if we took out more the rows would show. I had made a comment that in the future perhaps she could educate and give her clients the option between the two
*crotchet and single braid* To which she instantly was defensive and said "Oh so this is my fault, you're blaming me?" I replied no it's just a suggestion so people are aware. She went on to say crotched is faster which is true (more of a convenience for the stylist in my opinion) but you are limited and stuck with more hair that is bulky and heavy. I communicated this and she proceeded to raise her voice and say that it isn't her job to explain the options. I have referred multiple people to her and was advised that for both people I referred they experienced the same thing; she automatically suggested crotche not offering another option, sometimes not even asking the client and just doing crotche without discussing it. Showing a pattern of neglect. If it's not the trusted professional with knowledge and experience to educate and empower their clients to make informed decisions I don't know who's job it is. The added fact to YELL at any paying customer let alone a pregnant one (I'm pregnant) is unacceptable and unprofessional. Little to say that I and the multiple people I referred to her will not be returning.
